Peace. Hope. Healing.

Welcome to my practice

Hi, I’m Richelle. I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT #93745) based in Los Angeles, CA. I provide general and specialized counseling and therapy services for adults throughout California. My objective is to help people understand their feelings, explore thought and behavior patterns, and find workable solutions for what gets in the way of a productive, peaceful, and meaningful life.

People typically seek therapy for help with problems they’ve tried hard to solve on their own. They often feel stuck, tired, and on edge due to ongoing relationship issues, depression, or anxiety. They tend to feel embarrassed and ashamed for grappling with their mental health at all.

I specialize in working with clients who struggle with setting healthy boundaries. Many grew up in dysfunctional families, commonly with the unspoken rule, “Don’t feel. Don’t talk. Don’t trust.” By the time they reach adulthood, feelings of shame, guilt, insecurity, and inadequacy have taken root and they start looking to others for approval and validation. They strive for a sense of control and to do everything right, often at the expense of their own health, happiness, and emotional well-being.

Often their stories involve abuse, neglect, and unmet emotional needs. Sometimes, they can’t quite put their finger on the “why” behind their restlessness. They typically feel lonely, sad, angry, and a vague sense of emptiness which can stem from unhealthy family patterns of conflict, manipulation, secret-keeping, parental immaturity and narcissism, untreated or under-treated addiction and mental illness, or mismatched temperaments between family members.

These systemic family problems, in addition to toxic social and societal demands, create “Good Girls” and “Nice Guys,” people who’ve lost connection with their authentic selves in deference to these external pressures to keep everyone else happy and comfortable.

Whether you’re looking for emotional support, encouragement, general guidance, or problem-solving for a specific issue, I’m here to help you find your way from where you are now to where you want to be. My approach to therapy is holistic and client-centered, building upon your strengths and cheering you on while finding solutions that make sense for you and your particular challenges. I meet the therapeutic process with curiosity, kindness, openness, and often a bit of humor. We’ll work together collaboratively to create a plan and a positive narrative that supports your goals—at your pace and level of comfort.
